Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has spoken out for the first time after having his ban reduced to 18 months, meaning he will be available to play again in March next year.

Pogba was previously link with a doping test in September 2023, with a four-year ban confirmed earlier this year. 

However, the 31-year-old midfielder appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the court reduced the ban to 18 months, allowing him to return to training from January next year and be eligible to play for Juventus from March onwards.

After receiving confirmation of his suspension, Pogba spoke for the first time: “The nightmare is finally over.”

“Following the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision, I can now look forward to my dream of being able to pursue it again.”

“I’ve always said that I have no intention of violating any anti-doping regulations. I take supplements as prescribed by a doctor and they do not affect the performance of male athletes,”

“I play football honestly and I would like to thank the Court of Arbitration for Sport for listening to my statement,”

“This is the worst thing in my life because everything I’ve worked hard for has come to a halt. I’d like to thank everyone for their love and support.”

“I can’t wait to get back on the pitch.”

For Pogba, his last appearance for Juventus ยูฟ่าเบท was a 2-0 win over Empoli on September 3 last year, while his current contract runs until the summer of 2026.
