Raheem Sterling agent has issued a statement seeking clarity from Chelsea after the veteran winger was left out of the opening game against Manchester City.
Sterling was neither a starter nor a substitute for Chelsea in Sunday’s big match at Stamford Bridge against Manchester City.
The 29-year-old’s agent has released a statement asking for clarification from the London club regarding the reasons for his exclusion from the squad despite having played in six pre-season matches.
“Raheem Sterling has a three-year contract at Chelsea Football Club, returned to the UK two weeks early for personal training and had a good pre-season under his new coach with whom he has developed a good working relationship,” a statement said.
“He remains as determine as ever to perform at the highest level for Chelsea and the fans he holds so much respect for and, given his involvement in the pre-match stuff this week, we expect Raheem to be involve in the fixture this weekend.”

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said: “I want Sterling but I want all of them. I can’t have them all so some will have to leave. In the next few days, we will see if we can clarify the situation.”
And speaking to Ufabet Sports before the game, Maresca said: “The manager has to take decisions that people and players doesn’t like – it’s normal. It’s just a technical decision, no more than that. We will see in the next days.”
